With this in mind, we have an exciting and challenging opportunity at our Iberian Commercial organization (Spain and Portugal) as Head of Data, Digital and Technology (DD&T), based in Madrid.

The role is responsible for leading Iberia´s data, digital and technology strategy and transformation. The role sits both in the Iberian leadership team as well as the Europe and Canada (EUCAN) DD&T leadership team.

The focus will be primarily:

  • Next Generation Customer Experience: shapes and executes Omni Channel Engagement strategy and orchestrates priorities across different therapeutical areas and brands.

  • Data & Insights: shapes and executes strategy to enable data driven insights & decision making- that enable effective strategy execution – key activities with Health Care Providers and our values-based, High Performing and Agile Culture.

  • Digital health solutions: defines local digital health solutions supporting Value Based Partnerships and drives accelerations of digital health capabilities.

  • Technology Partner: acts as a connector around world of innovative technical solutions available and drive adoption and support across local Data, Digital and technology capabilities.


  • Build a deep understanding of Takeda’s business and the needs of all levels of the organization to set the Data, Digital & Technology strategy and roadmap for Iberia.

  • Translate Global and European (EUCAN) priorities into Iberia´s strategic initiatives including key activities and pilots

  • Sit in the EUCAN DD&T leadership to liaise & align bottom-up business needs and execution priorities with EUCAN DD&T Team.

  • Coordinate and Execute with the relevant Commercial Business Process Experts as well as other Global DD&T functions to enable Iberia´s core capabilities (Sales, Marketing, Patient Engagement, Non personal engagement, Data & Insights)

  • Lead, inspire and develop the DD&T team within Iberia

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A strategic mindset, able to partner and build on business priorities and co-create digital healthcare solutions bring breakthrough value with a wide cross-functional team of colleagues and external stakeholders; collaborate effectively

  • Design Thinking and Strong skill to build partnerships with industry partners, start-up communities, professional and patient organizations and suppliers

  • Competence to clearly communicate and foster alignment across all levels of the organization and ensure internal adoption of digital solutions

  • An ability to partner with senior stakeholders at all levels in the organization, who feels comfortable both at discussing strategy and roadmap as well as getting hands-on when required and who has a demonstrated ability to get “things done”.

  • Experience on large and complex programs from start to end

  • Demonstrated experience overseeing omnichannel customer experience and commercial and medical analytics programs using innovative technology solutions

  • Experience in people management and skills development is required as well

  • Proven track record of driving change in processes and organizations, while maintaining working relationships with key business customers.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 10 years of data, digital or information management and/or related work experience in Medical Device/ Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry

  • Fluent business English and Spanish preferred.
