At PepsiCo South West Europe, we are the division responsible for operations in Spain, Italy and Portugal, producing and marketing a wide range of food and beverage products for such well-known brands as Lay’s, Doritos, Cheetos, Ruffles, Pepsi and others.
This position was in place in Echavarri plant. The responsibilities of H&S position has clearly increased in terms as:

  • Higher complexity of the plant management, increase of temporary FLEs that require more demanding H&S training agenda.
  • Echavarri new project.
  • HS capex annual managed 180 M €
  • High demanding agenda to comply all both Pepsico and legal requirements for the HS management system.
  • Increase in the reporting detail demanded by Pepsico via my EHS platform

On top of that, HS agenda, has dramatically increase its relevance and has become a clear priority for the site and the business, increasing complexity of the role, external and internal interactions, number of projects, and the overall impact of the site and the BU.
  • Implementation, training and maintenance of Pepsico GEHMS management system based in ISO 14.000 and 45.000.
  • Assure completion of HS legal requirements calendar.
GEHSMS SYSTEM
  • Define and implent gehms standars under HS department scope.
  • Support, train and implement within duty holders, of other departaments, for the correct implementation of GEHSMS standars under their scope.
  • Defend calibration audits and certification system audits.
  • Participate in calibration audits in SWE region.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Record and follow up of HS legal requirements plan.
  • Support Maintenance department for the legal compliance of Industrial Safety requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Able to provide Health & Safety Functional Leadership at sile level to ensure compliance to PepsiCo EHS standards and legal requirements as a minimum.
  • Health & Safety Management skills required for implementation, audit and governance of legal and corporate standards plus investigation, risk assessment, legal knowledge.
  • Functional technical and operational knowledge of beverage manufacturing technology to enable pragmatic and effective solutions to be found to promote business efficiency, not restrict it.
  • Technical knowledge and skills to high level of proficiency over a wide range of HS technical competences.
  • Ability to create actionable plans and deliver against required timelines.
  • Have attention to detail, follow-up, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills plus numeracy.
  • High integrity, with personal commitment the importance of employee health and safety responsibilities for Pepsico.


Differentiating Competencies Required
  • Experience in HS management in manufacturing
  • Engineering grade (Chemical, Food industry, Environmental)
  • Post graduate Master in Health and Safety Management. TSPRL
  • Training in ISO for EHS management 14001/ISO45001.
  • Written and spoken English (advance level)
