Senior Manager, Global Medical Training, MeTA+

Location: Barcelona


This is what you will do:

The Senior Manager, Global Medical Affairs Training (GMT) plays a key role in the development and execution of training projects and programs. The Senior Manager will report directly to and collaborate closely with the Therapeutic Area (TA) Training Lead. They will support training projects and programs buy tracking and managing the important functions to assure successful completion. The Senior Manager will be required to build clinical background knowledge to become TA subject matter expert. The Senior Manger will also identify and drive best practices within the TA, and collaborate with GMT Team to harmonize projects and deliverables across TAs in order to optimize the synergy and cohesive nature of the GMT initiatives. The Senior Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to drive planning and execution of training deliverables in order to successfully achieve the objectives as laid forth by Company as well as Global and Regional Medical Affairs objectives.

You will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the creation and design TA medical training playbooks and provide oversight on optimizing / updating content and maintaining version control of the training playbook(s)
  • Monitor and maintain continuous development of harmonized onboarding program for new hires and assure functional excellence in the and optimal user experience across all of GMA onboarding program.
  • Support both US and International teams in identifying and prioritizing training needs and matching with current or to be developed GMT deliverables.
  • Manage external training vendors in the creation of training content
  • Assist with the integration of skills development programs into clinical training programs
  • Collaborate with cross-funtional Global Training Alignment Committee (GTAC) to identify and develop ongoing training initiatives designed to educate on emerging clinical data and disease state advancements.
  • Facilitate and lead refresher trainings and assist in the development of continuous learning curricula
  • Collaborate on the creation and execution of role specific training for Global Medical functions including Medical Directors, Medical Managers, MSLs and other internal Medical Affairs Team members.
  • Utilize innovative instructional design techniques to optimize the training experience and meet the goals of adaptive adult learning principles.
  • Utilized advancing technology to create - engaging trainings and updates that are easily accessible and digestible for the target audience.
  • Utilize training performance measurements and KPIs to evaluate trainings and inform future training design.
  • Report any Pharmacovigilance Event eventually discussed during the trainings.

You will need to have:

  • B.A., B.S., M.S. in a scientific arena with 1+ years of applicable experience
  • 1-3 years of training or related experience in the biopharmaceutical or health related industry
  • A proven track record of clinical and disease state understanding
  • Ability collaborate with multiple stakeholders and synthesize input into effective training deliverables
  • Experience and comfort in working within a matrixed organization
  • Understanding of the multiple facets of R&D and Medical Affairs functions
  • Ability to develop strong, respectful, and collaborative professional relationships
  • Experience in digesting clinical content and synthesizing into concise and understandable materials which align to strategy.
  • Ability to disseminate, develop and deliver engaging trainings incorporating adult learning principles
  • Ability to develop strong, respectful, professional relationships
  • Travel required, 20-30% overnight travel within Europe and occasional intercontinental travel
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • MD, PhD, PharmD or B.A./B.S. in scientific study with appropriate experience
  • Experience in training instructional design and content management
  • Medical affairs experience including clinical development and KOL management
  • Experience in preparation and launch of products into the biopharmaceutical space
  • Collaborative spirit and ability to align around vision to drive positive results
  • Experience in orphan disease or rare disease pharma is an asset
